THE STORY
Some projects are special because of the design. Others are special because of the people. And every once in a while, we get both.
Our clients have been part of our design family since 2020. It all started with a jewelry store—Pampillonia—which She brought us in to redesign (you can check that out in our portfolio!). Then came their Dallas home, where we tackled the dining and living rooms in Phase 1, followed by their family room. We even decked their halls for Christmas, making sure their holiday decor matched their home's new, impeccable style.
She is an incredibly creative, warm, and stylish person (she designs custom jewelry, so of course, she has a deep love for jewel tones, glamorous details, and precision). He, on the other hand, is all about wellness and fitness. So when it came time to renovate their master suite—bedroom, bathroom, closet, and Hi’s home office—we had a very fun mix of luxury and function to balance.
THE BEFORE
The master suite? Stuck in the 1980s. Also, hi, hello, from me in every mirror around this room.
The bathroom was massive, with tons of potential (hello, skylight!), but also tons of wasted space. A giant garden tub dominated the room, the counters were awkwardly low (especially for two tall people), and She didn’t have a great spot to do her makeup. Functionality was, suffice it to say, lacking.
And then came the wishlist: a steam shower, traditional/infrared sauna combo, cold plunge (for him), and a luxe soaking tub (for her). Oh, and all of it had to actually fit in the space. No big deal. 😅
Meanwhile, the bedroom needed a refresh, the fireplace was outdated, the ceiling beams felt clunky, and He’s home office needed to feel warm and inviting.
The closet? She wasn’t overly concerned. He, on the other hand, was very passionate about this space. (And spoiler: by the end, She was too!)
THE PLAN

Here’s how we brought their dream master suite to life:
Completely overhauled the bathroom layout to make room for all the wellness features while improving functionality. Also, that crazy closet angle wasn't something we could do anything about, so we adjusted the entry to the closet to clean up as many of those random angles as possible.
Taller counters for their height, plus custom LED makeup mirrors for her.
Steam shower, sauna, and cold plunge – all seamlessly incorporated without overwhelming the space.
A statement tile floor for that extra touch of pattern and personality.
New fireplace facade, fresh paint, and modernized ceiling beams to breathe new life into the bedroom.
Double wood doors with stunning hardware leading to His cozy, updated home office.
And the closet? It’s straight out of a luxury boutique. Custom shelving, integrated lighting, and a lockable jewelry drawer designed specifically for Her collection. (A literal jewelry store, at home.)
THE AFTER
Let’s take a tour, shall we?!

We'll begin at this view, right when you walk into the bedroom. So much to talk about: the soft blue ceiling; updated white oak beams, and those yummy wood doors with the *oh so substantial* brass hardware that lead to the office. Very mindful. Very demure. 😉

The bed was here already, a selection we made a few years back to tide them over until the major project. The rich emerald green anchors the soft color palette and keeps it from feeling too light or feminine, and pulls on the rich colors we used in the dining and living rooms.

White bedding is never the wrong answer, feeling luxurious and hotel-like, but it needs personality! These colorful pillows were the perfect accent to bring the color palette together. And those patterned lamps are the most fun.

Opposite the bed, another choice that's never wrong in my book - BURL WOOD. Give me all the burl, always and forever, amen. Plus, a love letter to our favorite modern invention, the Art Frame TV. Thank you for making TVs not awful to look at.

A couple of luxurious details - motorized blackout shades for the rare mornings you can sleep in, and a super soft rug underfoot. The bedroom had carpet before that needed replacing, so we ran hardwood floors through the bedroom to match what is in the rest of the house.

We revived the fireplace with a new engineered quartz hearth, ribbed marble tile surround (gorgeous texture IRL), and a sleek mantle. Oh, and we said goodbye to the built in brass and glass door situation and painted that out to match the fireplace, and brought in a new brass freestanding screen.

The double wood doors lead to our client's home office (talk about a nice commute). It is full of natural light, so we drenched the room in moody color.
Since it's a working space with sensitive info, we didn't do a deep photography dive in here, so enjoy the little glimpse!
Now, onto the Bathroom.

Can we just take a moment here 😍

SO much to unpack here . Let's start at the door with this killer floor pattern - a mix of marble and glazed ceramic tiles, creating a rug-like pattern. The chain link marble has the tiniest wink-and-a-nod to our client's love of jewelry design.

Just off the bedroom are the new double vanities. These were custom made in white oak, in a lighter tone than the adjacent floors. Wood is such a great element to add to a bathroom, which can otherwise feel super cold.

The details here were so specific, creating a frame around each pair of doors (rather that what you usually see, a frame on each door) to make this extra special. The lucite knobs are a nod to our client's love of jewelry.

Inside the cabinets are hidden power outlets and grooming tool customizations to keep the counters clear and the drawers organized.

Directly behind the vanities are linen cabinets with built in hampers. All the storage!

If we step back, we get a peek at the reallllllly good stuff...

The incredible trifecta: sauna, steam shower, and cold plunge tub.

We worked in lockstep with our client, General Contractor, and the sauna manufacturer to create a completely custom infrared/traditional dry sauna combo. It was a labor of love (and roughly 1937 emails) but it all came together. And it is EVERYTHING.

The walls, bench, and floor are all a white fir, an ideal wood for saunas and a great compliment to our white oak cabinetry.

As a Designer, a little bit of house envy of what we design for our clients is always going to be there, but this sauna has given me the ultimate FOMO. The health benefits of using a sauna regularly are extensive. What an incredible luxury to have in your home!

Next door, a luxurious steam shower.

This functions exactly like a regular shower with a wall mounted showerhead and a handheld shower, but has an added steam generator and shower bench so you can just melt away all of your worries. The soft blue wall tile and deep blue floor tile just pile the relaxation on.

Onto the tub. This guy is multi-functional, working both as a traditional tub for people who want water so hot that you come out looking like a lobster (me), and for psychopaths who enjoy cold plunging (ironically, also me).

The brass faucet is a normal tub faucet that delivers water, both hot and cool. The cold plunge equipment is tucked back in shelving next to the steam shower (along with the steam shower components) to turn that water frigid. And the blue light fixture? That's to compliment the color your lips turn after a cold plunge.
Kidding. It's just for fun.

This is the ultimate at home spa situation. And in case you're wondering how all of this works together (I know, you didn't ask) my favorite way to enjoy all 3: sauna for 15-20 minutes, immediate cold plunge dip for 5 minutes, and then a steam shower to bring everything back to normal temp. This is not science, but dang, it feels amazing.

Now, onto the final room, the cherry on top...

The custom closet.

The hidden gem of the entire renovation. Custom-built to showcase and organize our clients' incredibly chic clothing collection, this space is equal parts fashion and function.

Shoes, bags, hats, jewelry, it all has a place. Speaking of jewelry,

Check out our custom designed jewelry drawer. Absolute perfection. It's lockable and customized to her exact specs. And the pink edge? Sorry not sorry. Go pink or go home.

Drawers and a makeup mirror creates a dressing room that would seriously fit for a Hollywood starlet.

I would like it noted that going forward, all clients must have color coordinated clothes to make the closets look this good. Thanks in advance for your compliance.

We designed every single inch to make the most out of this space, including a tucked away cabinet for belts, ties, and small accessories.

A Master Suite for the ages. The ultimate balance of luxury and wellness, glam and function, his and hers, personal and practical.
And if you’re sitting in your outdated, hanging on by duct tape and a dream bathroom thinking, YEAH, I want that in my life, you know where to find us. 😉
