I feel like it’s a magical thing that November Favorites Day happened to coincide with Cyber Monday! WHAT AN AMAZING WORLD WE LIVE IN. We’ve rounded up some of our Team’s favorite things from the last month (and a few that we’re hoping to see under the tree next month!).

1. Kettle – Once fall actually takes hold in Texas I find myself wanting special beverages throughout the day. And since it’s frowned upon to drink whiskey all day, I find myself reaching for hot tea just to have something a little different. I use this kettle nearly every day, and for WAY more than just hot tea. We use it to make oatmeal, to quick-cook frozen peas, to make a pot of iced tea, or hot chocolate. I even use it to jump-start the water boiling on my notoriously slow gas range. This thing is an absolute dream.
2. Tea - A former coworker turned me onto this brand and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I drink about a half gallon of tea a day (true story) but the same old unsweet iced tea can get a little dull. If you’re like me and don’t love sweet tea, but do like a little something different every once in a while, this black currant tea might fit the bill! It has a hint of flavor to it without being sweet or overpowering. It’s delicious hot or cold!
3. Coffee Maker - Our coffee maker broke in October, which might sound like a bad thing, but when you are a SMEG lover like me what it actually meant was a perfect excuse to get an adorable coffee maker that coordinates with my kettle! We aren’t super fancy coffee people, so all we needed was your basic drip coffee maker. This guy makes good coffee, and looks good doing it. The only real drawback is that the hot plate only warms the coffee for about an hour, so if you’re one who makes a pot at 6 and drinks it until noon, he may not be the one for you.
4. Mrs. Meyers Peppermint – I’m a huge Mrs. Meyers fan because, yes, they work, but mostly because they smell amaaaaazing. At the holidays I stray from my usual scents of lavender or lemon and go for peppermint. It smells so fresh and clean and festive. I have the multi-surface spray for everyday messes, but did you know that the best way to deep clean most countertops is to mix a couple of drops of dish soap into a bucket of hot water?! True story!
5. Food storage containers – ‘Tis the season for leftovers, and January is the season for health goals and meal prep, so these babies will have you covered for months. I HATE when I can’t find the right lid for the Tupperware I need, and I want to be able to warm things up straight from the fridge to the microwave or oven. These are glass, so I don’t have to worry about chemicals leeching from plastic and into my food. They stack neatly in the cabinet and the fridge, and they are pretty to look at. #fridgegoals
6. Christmas tea towel – I’m a minimalist about a lot of things, but tea towels just don’t fall into that category. Whether you just put them out to be cute, or use them in a basket filled with homemade goodies, they are adorable. This traditional Christmas scene is perfect for keeping or for gifting!
7. Headband – Something you may not know about me – I have a GIANT forehead and cannot wear headbands. It pains me greatly because there are so many cute ones out there. I watch Joanna on The Home Edit pull them off and it just doesn’t look right on my large head. But if you have a normal-person sized head, please grab yourself a velvet headband for the holidays. Do it for me.
8. Flocked Christmas Tree – We were solidly Team Real Christmas Tree for the first 13 years of our marriage. I love the smell, the picking out of the tree, the entire experience. But when I was pregnant with Theo I had a bunch of complications, one if which included not lifting anything. Which makes it pretty tricky to buy, load, and unload an 8’ tree into your house. We bought a faux flocked tree and never looked back. I cannot express the relief of not having to wrap every individual branch with 1000 lights, getting your hands pricked and covered in sap, only 3 hours later to finally be ready just to decorate the dang thing. It’s a DREAM. Pair it with a scented candle and you’re good to go. I personally adore a flocked tree, partially because the white goes better with my Christmas décor and house, and also because it doesn’t snow in Texas, so I get a little bit of that winter wonderland experience in my living room!
9. Tree skirt – This polka dot tree skirt is so dang cute and fun! It looks all at once sophisticated and playful; a winning combination.
10. Faux Leather Leggings – These have been on my wish list for YEARS, and I think this will be the year that I finally pull the trigger. I love the idea of being able to wear leggings but also look like I’ve dressed up for the holidays!
11. Christmas throw pillow cover set – We love Woven Nook all year long for their affordable, curated pillow covers, but especially at Christmas when you want to add a little festivity to your sofa without spending a ton. For $50 you get 4 pillow covers that aren’t cheap, shiny, or crappy material. And they are machine washable, which is a huge plus
when you consider kids + hot cocoa.
12. Blush chair – We have this little ditty in our house in a different fabric, and guys, it’s the sweetest most ergonomic little chair that you ever did see. It seems smaller and more petite in scale, but somehow it still fits even non-small people. It’s lightweight enough to move around your house for when you need an extra seat, but not so light that it slides around or you feel unsupported. They have 3 in-stock fabric options if you are needing a chair in a hurry ahead of holiday get togethers.
There you have it! Happy Cyber Monday! If you grab anything on our list, we’d love to see it! Tag us @taralenneydesign and #TLDathome so we can share in the joy!
