Tis the season for overindulgence….fa la la la la, I feel so blah! LOL. I hope you’ve enjoyed this incredible holiday season to the fullest, but if, like me, you maybe overdid it on the carbs, stayed up late, and drank too many It's a Wonderful Life Cocktails [link to post], we have a special favorites edition for you.

The New Year is a natural time to want to make some changes in your life, but before you throw yourself into a cross-fit binge, maybe consider a softer approach. Here are a few of our favorite things to ease your way into your best year ever. From planning to stretching to eating to relationships, here are a few things to get you started.

1. Water Bottle with Straw – I don’t know about you, but I always drink more with a straw. A friend gifted me this insulated tumbler last year and it quickly became my favorite. I fill this sucker up all day long and it keeps me hydrated and keeps my drinks cold, just like I like ‘em.

2. Planner – If you are a paper planner person, finding the right planner can be the difference-maker between feeling on top of life and crushed by it! There are so many great ones out there and it’s important to find the right one for you. The Start Planner, the Simplified Planner, the Best Self planner, and the Rifle Paper Company planner are some great ones, just to name a few!

3. Instant Pot – If you haven’t jumped on the Instant Pot bandwagon, let me be the thousandth friend to sing its praises. We use ours all the time for everything from rice to meat and chili to applesauce. It’s the ease of a slow cooker except it cooks everything FAST! Here’s a link to my Pinterest board with lots of instant pot recipes, and of course you can find some of my favorites inside of our free 8-week meal plan!

4. Air Fryer – I talk a lot about how I love tacos, but if I’m being super honest, fried foods are my absolute favorite. Fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, and fries are my weakness. Give me a pile of shoestring fries over dessert any day of the week. This jumbo family sized air fryer is amazing. You get a really good facsimile of the fried foods you love with little to no cooking oil. It’s also awesome at cooking off frozen foods and reheating leftovers without them going soggy. I’m always finding new ways to use this thing.

5. Leggings – This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about leggings, and it won’t be the last. I have passionate feelings about leggings with a cell phone pocket so I can listen to a podcast while I walk. Or, let’s be honest, so that I can carry my phone around all the times that I’m wearing them and not working out! But you could exercise while wearing these, which is the point.

6. Extra Thick Yoga Mat – I am hoping to get back on the yoga bandwagon this year. I invested in a Lululemon mat a couple of years back and it is SO worth the splurge. It’s extra thick and cushy, which is awesome on the knees. I don’t have bad knees by any stretch, but I just hate the feeling of my knee bone on the floor!

7. Intimacy Prompt Cards – This sounds quite a bit sexier than it is! Ha. These cards have prompts that will spark conversations with your spouse and help you communicate and deepen your relationship. Even after 16 years of marriage (next week!)

8. Mist Facial Toner – I don’t typically have dry skin, but this time of year my face can start to feel dry and itchy. What I love about this spray is that it’s light but still hydrating, and absorbs into my skin even when I’m wearing makeup. It’s from Grove (my fav house cleaning product resource) who now carries beauty products. If you’re not already a Grove member, you can use this link to get a free cleaning gift set with your first purchase!

9. Clip Folio – I am a visual person, and the absolute best way I can strategize and take notes is by writing them down on paper. I have been using clip folios for YEARS, they let me take notes on a standard size pad of paper and then scan them easily into the computer without having to fuss around with flattening out a notebook on the scanner glass. And the clip is handy in my world for carrying around a floor plan or a mood board or whatever else I might need while shopping or walking a job site. Couldn’t live without one. And this Rifle Paper Company number is about as pretty as it gets.

10. A Simplified Life – If you’re not familiar with Emily Ley, go give her a follow online. She has designed an entire business around helping people simplify their lives. This book hits all areas from simplifying your home to your calendar to your meal planning. If simplifying and minimalism are goals for you in 2021, I highly encourage you to check this book out!

11. A Beautiful Mess Podcast – If I’m in my car, there’s about a 50% chance that I’m reliving my youth listening to Lithium on Sirius radio, or listening to a podcast. The ABM gals’ podcast is always in my rotation. They are 2 sisters with an incredible design and lifestyle blog who talk about design, renovations, side hustles, books, recipes, and relationships. Basically all the things I love in life. Something tells me if you’re reading this post you’re probably into those things too!

12. Massage Gun – Raise your hand if you spent this year working from home hunched over your laptop in a totally non-ergonomic setup that made your shoulders feel like you’d aged 100 years?! This recommendation comes from my assistant Marissa and it’s about to make its way into my shopping cart! I’ve had neck and shoulder issues since a car accident a few years back and I would LOVE to make it a part of my regular routine to work that business out before I’m crying in pain for a chiropractor or massage. Let’s make 2021 the year where we don’t wait for things to be an emergency before we do something about them, shall we?!

Wishing you a wonderful New Year! Here’s to a fresh start and a year full of possibilities.
