Some projects are special, and then some feel downright legendary. This one? It’s both.

Kate, a longtime client (our favorite kind!), first worked with us in 2018 when we designed her previous home from top to bottom. It was the perfect blend of style and function—until disaster struck before we could even capture it in photos (more on that in a moment).

But Kate is a force of nature and was not going to go down without a fight. She enlisted us to help with her new home. She found a real gem—a Tudor-style home in Kessler Park, one of Dallas’s most sought-after historic neighborhoods.

While the exterior held onto its 1920s charm, the interior was another story. 90+ years of renovations had stripped the house of its original character, leaving behind a disjointed, semi-disaster of space that didn’t do justice to its roots. No more moulding. No Tudor details. And a chopped up floor plan that made zero sense.

This home was crying out for a thoughtful, era-honoring revival, infused with Kate's style (flawless) and personality (larger than life).

We partnered with the Dallas Morning News to document the entire transformation—from what happened to her last home, to the design plans, construction progress, and final reveal.
